Bridge Drive-In Now Open for All Your Ice Cream Needs

BDI (Bridge Drive-In) is now open for the season – which is a sign that summer must be near! Located just by the Elm Park Bridge at 766 Jubilee Ave, it has been dubbed Winnipeg’s favourite Ice Cream shop.

We’re a huge fan of the Reese Peanut Butter Cup Flurry… BDI is never stingy on the toppings and you’re always guaranteed plenty of chocolate chunks.

It’s still early in the season so line-ups won’t be too bad. We’re also in the middle of the Spring melt so the area will be a bit muddy/slushy. On the plus side, you wont be pestered with mosquitoes that the near by river usually brings.

BDI’s peak season is from June – August when you’ll usually see long lineups. The staff are well trained to handle large crowds. Don’t be discouraged by the long lines… they move fairly quick.

Did You Know? Elm Park Bridge was built in 1912 and it was open to two-way vehicular traffic. The deck of the bridge is only 15 feet wide. In 1965, it was closed to vehicular traffic, and is now used for pedestrian traffic linking Kingston Crescent with the Jubilee/Osborn.
