FREE Zoo Admission for Children During Winter Break

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy will be offering two very special promotions during the winter break (December 20 to January 4).

  1. FREE Zoo admission for children (age 12 and under) – December 20 to January 4
The promotion begins with a North Polar Party on December 20 and 21. Visitors can meet Santa, visit the reindeer, say hello to our Zoo mascot, Winston the polar bear, and complete the Santa Scavenger Hunt to earn some holiday treats! There’s also free hot chocolate and colouring for kids at the Tundra Grill and indoor Polar Playground.
  2. 50% off admission for children (age 12 and under) at the Home for the Holidays Show at the Conservatory – December 20 to January 4
The Conservatory is dressed up for the holiday season with spectacular horticulture displays inspired by the classic children’s novel “Around the World in 80 Days” by Jules Verne. There’s also holiday music, crafts for kids, movie nights, plus free coffee and hot chocolate! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making an appearance at the Conservatory on December 23 (12:30 – 4:00 pm). There will also be horse-drawn sleigh rides on December 23 and 30 (1:00 – 3:30 pm) and live musical performances throughout the winter break. The Conservatory will be open with extended hours for evening visitors on several days throughout the winter break.

“The holiday season is about spending quality time with friends and family and making memories,” said Margaret Redmond, Assiniboine Park Conservancy President & CEO. “This is our way of saying thanks to the community for a wonderful year. We are looking forward to sharing more magical moments with you in 2015!”

The Zoo is open daily from 9 am – 4 pm, 9 am – noon on December 24 and 31, and closed on Christmas day.
