There are reports out that are showing a 40% drop in auto thefts and a 46% drop in failed attempts in Winnipeg. Really? I guess that last week’s “vigilante justice” must not reflect these drops in car theft.
It seems instead of jacking cars that are unoccupied, some thieves are actually willing to break in to cars that are occupied (with women and young children) so what do these stats really mean?
Are the thieves getting braver or just more stupid? While Winnipeg may no longer be the car theft capital of Canada, there’s a chance that you may start hearing about them more because of the major news channel’s ways of bending the truth.
