Got a lot of junk that probably wont be able to sell in a garage sale?
Winnipeg’s Executive Policy Committee has approved the city’s first ever Giveaway Weekend! Winnipeggers will now have the chance to get rid of their junk and pick through everyone else’s.
How It Works:
On September 26th and 27th, Winnipeggers are encouraged to put their unwanted stuff on the curb for others to pick up.
The goal is to encourage recycling and prevent useful junk from going into the trash. The city will spend $20,000 promoting Giveaway Weekend. Late September was chosen due to it being the end of the Garage Sale season.
