Rogers and Fido Testing HSPA+ in Manitoba

Rogers and Fido has begun testing their HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access) network in Manitoba.

The 21Mbps HSPA+ network will be the fastest in Canada. Rogers 3G is up to 7.2Mbps.

You’ll now be to enjoy faster data access on the go! HTC G2 and Rocket Sticks never looked any better.

What is HSPA+?
HSPA+ is not 4G. HSPA+ falls somewhere in between 3G and 4G. Eventually Rogers will achieve 4G or LTE, but at this time HSPA+ is more like 3.75G.

Will I Notice A Speed Increase on my Phone?
Chances are, no, you wont. HSPA+ is very new technology. Chances are that your phone will only support a maximum 3G network. But expect more and more phones to start supporting the HSPA+ and 4G networks soon. The iPhone 4 currently doesn’t support HSPA+.

Rogers is currently testing HSPA+ in Northern Manitoba… Fido has already begun it’s roll out.
