Winnipeg Roads Getting a Facelift this Year

The province will be putting in $38.1M this year to repair major roads, residential streets, and bike paths.

Winnipeg roads are constantly being hammered everyday (especially truck routes), so its nice to see the province putting a big investment into their maintenance.

$25M of the $38.1M budget will go towards major streets including Chief Peguis Trail, Jubilee Overpass, Sturgeon Road Bridge and Pembina Highway underpass. A $500,000 bike path will also be created along Pembina Highway.

The downside to all of this? Expect even more traffic delays!
