Fire Ban Relaxed at Birds Hill Provincial Park

Manitoba Conservation has relaxed the Fire Ban at Birds Hill Provincial Park. Campers will now be allowed to tell stories and roast marshmallows around an actual fire. Fires in approved fire pits are permitted during the limited hours of 8am to 8pm. We can thank the large thunderstorm we had this week for being spotty enough to reduce the fire hazard. The ban has been in place since August 3, 2011.

Unfortunately, hiking and bike trails remain closed. There have been a total of 248 fires reported so far this season, burning a total of 84,290 hectares. The public is urged to report all wildfires to 1-800-782-0076 (TIPS/Wildfires).
