Recycle Your Real Christmas Tree After the Holidays

Image Christmas Tree – Uploaded by needoptic

Don’t know what to do with your real Christmas tree after the holidays? You can recycle it for free by taking it to one of the City’s Let’s Chip In depots between December 27, 2011, and January 20, 2012.

You’ll have to remove all tinsel, decorations, plastic bags, and tree stands. You can also help yourself to free wood chips, which will be available at all depots in early January.

Keeping Christmas trees out of landfill means that the trees will continue to be a valuable resource. Winnipeg residents recycled 9,668 trees last season.
