Timberwolves two-time All-Star and Team USA Gold Medal champion, Kevin Love, broke his right hand in a morning workout Wednesday and will miss six to eight weeks. This includes the preseason game scheduled for MTS Centre on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 against the Detroit Pistons.

The Timeberwolves are already without star point guard Ricky Rubio for what is expected to be at least the first six weeks of the regular season while he recovers from a torn ACL in his left knee.

Brandon Roy may be the only ‘star’ on the court. The three-time NBA all-star was forced to retire in 2011 due to a bad knee. The Timberwolves have concluded a few weeks of training camp, and Brandon Roy’s knees are reported to “feel as good as new”.

We don’t get the NBA in Winnipeg often – so let’s make the most of it!
