Home Things To Do In Winnipeg 3rd Annual Canada Day Living Flag

3rd Annual Canada Day Living Flag

Downtown BIZ is challenging Winnipeggers to assemble again to defend Winnipeg’s largest Living Flag title on Canada Day. Last year, nearly 4,000 people (photoed above) showed their national pride on Canada Day 2012 by standing shoulder to shoulder to form Canada’s biggest-ever Living Flag in front of the Manitoba Legislative Building. The photo was chosen and produced as an official Canada Post stamp – with more than 10 million stamps produced and circulated worldwide.

This year Downtown BIZ is hoping to beat the record once again. Let’s show Canada that Winnipeg is the city to beat!

Where: Manitoba Legislative Grounds (in front of Legislative Building)
When: Monday, July 1st from 9:30-12:00pm
* 9:30am – 11am: T-shirt distribution (first come, first serve) and entertainment
* 11:15am – 12pm: Form the flag and pose for the photo

There will be 2,000 t-shirts available, however, participants are encouraged to wear either red or white to accommodate the whole flag.

Walk-ups are welcome but people are asked to register to also be entered to win various prizes. You can register at http://www.downtownwinnipegbiz.com/home/events/living_flag/.

So grab your favourite red or white shirt and head down to the Leg on Canada Day to be part of another awesome photo. [LIVING FLAG]
