Minneapolis to Host Super Bowl in 2018

Gather you’re road trip friends and get those winter tires ready! Minneapolis will be hosting Super Bowl LII in 2018 at the new Vikings Stadium.

Upcoming Super Bowls:

  • 2015: Glendale, Arizona (University of Phoenix Stadium)
  • 2016: Santa Clara, California (Levi’s Stadium)
  • 2017: Houston, Texas (Reliant Stadium)
  • 2018: Minneapolis, Minnesota (Vikings Stadium)

The new 1,750,000 sqft. Vikings Stadium will open for the 2016 season. The Vikings will play the 2014 and 2015 season at the University of Minnesota while construction on the new stadium completes. The project will cost $975 million and seat 65,400 (expandable to 72,000).

Minnesota beat out Indianapolis and New Orleans for the 2018 Super Bowl – which may not come as a surprise with their nearly $1 billion stadium attraction.

Average temperature in Minneapolis in February? Around -10 Celsius.
