Did you use your credit card at Home Depot anytime after April 2014? Then you may be part of the credit card breach that happened on their Canadian systems.


The data theft impacted customers who made purchases in-store using their credit card at Home Depots in Canada. Theres no evidence that online customers were affected or that any DEBIT pins were compromised.

Home Depot’s systems was hit by a variant of the same malware that hacked Target’s systems last year.

In response, Home Depot has offered anyone who used their credit card at Home Depot anytime after April 2014 1 Year of Equifax Premier for FREE.

Equifax is a service that gives you reports so you can be certain that nobody is using your information or accessing your accounts. The service is valued at $199.


Equifax Premier benefits include:

  • A maximum of $50k Identity Theft Insurance
  • You can access your Credit Score and Report as much as you like
  • They monitor your credit constantly and will send email notifications anytime your credit profile changes
  • You will also receive an alert when your information is being used on the internet.
    If you loose your wallet, there is a One Click option to cancel your debit and credit cards, cheques and anything else you may need stopped if your wallet is stolen or lost.
