Gasoline prices might be going down in Winnipeg, but Primary Gas Rates will go up 5% on November 1, 2014.

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has approved Centra Gas’s application to increase the current Primary Gas rate from $0.1551/m3 to $0.1665/m3 effective November 1.

The increase will help Centra recover $23.3 million of the $46.7 million Centra spent last year when Manitoba saw the third coldest Winter in over 100 years.

Residential customers are expected to see a Primary Gas rate increase of approximately 5% or $43/year.

Primary Gas rates will be reviewed again February 1, 2015.
