Manitoba Moose Returning to Winnipeg Next Season

The AHL has announced that it will be returning to Winnipeg for the 2015-16 season!

In a game of musical chairs: The Montreal Canadiens’ AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs, will be moving to St. John’s, and the St. John’s IceCaps will be moving back to Winnipeg.

In 2011, the Manitoba Moose was moved to St. Johns, Newfoundland to make room for Winnipeg’s NHL franchise.

Don’t dust off your Moose jerseys just yet. No decision has been made on whether the team will be called the Manitoba Moose.

The Manitoba Moose was in Winnipeg for 15 seasons from 1996-2011. It has been a staple in the province and we’d be surprised if they didn’t bring back the name and logo.
