Christmas Tree Recycling Depots Now Open

Do you have a real Christmas tree but aren’t sure what to do with it? From now until Monday, January 20, 2016 you can recycle it for free by taking it to one of the 11 Let’s Chip In depots.

Please remove all tinsel, decorations, plastic bags, and tree stands. Residents are welcome to help themselves to free wood chips, which will be available at all depots in early January (while quantities last). Please remember to bring your own container.

Residents are reminded that trees placed beside recycling or garbage carts will not be collected.

Keeping Christmas trees out of our landfills means that the trees will continue to be a valuable resource. Winnipeg residents recycled 11,000 trees last season.
