Winnipeg’s tallest building will be built at Winnipeg’s most iconic intersection.
A new 40-storey tower will be built at the southwest corner Portage and Main. The $140-million dollar building will include around 400 rental apartments and commercial space. It’s expected to be completed by 2019.
Cranes are no longer extinct in downtown Winnipeg. SkyCity Centre, the $200-million building project announced in 2013, will begin construction in 2017. Once completed, it will be the tallest free-standing structure between Toronto and Calgary.
By 2020, Winnipeg’s tallest building will be the SkyCity Centre tower, followed by 300 Main.
