Canada is one step closer to implementing a ‘Netflix Tax’ that will charge tax on foreign media streaming services such as Netflix.

Shomi, a Canadian-based media streaming service created by Rogers and Shaw shut down on November 30, 2016 because it simply could not keep up with the U.S. competition.
