If you’re looking to recreate that beautiful sky lantern scene from Disney’s Tangled in your backyard, you may want to think again.

The City of Winnipeg has updated their fire-prevention bylaw to prohibit small hot air balloons “made of paper or other material with an opening at the bottom where a small fire, candle or fuel cell is affixed such that the lantern will rise into the air while ignited.”

This will include sky lanterns which pose “a serious fire hazard to property and a health risk to livestock, pets and wildlife”.

Winnipeg joins Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador and other Canadian municipalities with the ban.

The bylaw is expected to be approved on April 26, 2017.
