Computer Avenue Closing Its Doors

Computer Avenue located on St. James St. will be closing up shop for good Friday, June 30, 2017.

At one point, St. James was the booming computer shop district of Winnipeg. Every block would have a computer shop that sold parts and offered repair services. Since then, computer parts have moved from a ‘specialty item’ to a norm. Big-box stores such as Staples, Best Buy and even Walmart now offer computer parts at very competitive prices. It’s been touch for local shops to remain in business.

Computer Boulevard suffered the same fate in 2012.

Everything in the store will be liquidated including furniture and fixtures. Sales will last while supplies last. Right now everything is up to 70% off. Expect discounts to get larger as June 30 approaches. [COMPUTER AVENUE]
