The day is finally here! Winnipeg’s first Popeyes Lousiana Chicken location will open on Friday, August 17, 2018.
If you’re brave enough to endure the long lineup, then head to 605 Sterling Lyon Parkway. The 2,584sq feet restaurant will have a drive-thru and seating for 60 people.
Jonathan Enright of the Enright Group (who operates most of the Boston Pizza franchises in Manitoba) says this won’t be the only Popeyes Chicken in Winnipeg. They already have a deal signed for another restaurant and are negotiation additional locations in Winnipeg, other Manitoba cities, and north-west Ontario.
Popeyes Chicken is a fried chicken fast food chain that was founded in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana. They are the second-largest fast food chicken restaurant next to KFC. They first expanded into Canada (Toronto) in 1984.
