Mr. Mikes Steakhouse on Kenaston Permanently Closes Its Doors

Mr Mike’s Steakhouse Casual on Kenaston is closed and won’t be re-opening.

The Burnaby, B.C.-based chain opened in Winnipeg on June 25, 2018. It still has three locations in Manitoba: Portage La Prairie, Winkler and Dauphin.

The restaurant started in Vancouver in 1960 and had gone through a few changes but it aims to occupy the market that is less expensive than what The Keg owns. They also serve burgers, pastas and salads but alas, no salad bar anymore.

Mr. Mikes was the first tenant for the 5,200 square feet building on Kenaston. There are not rumours on what will take its place… but with the current state of the pandemic, it might be a while.
