Free Entry to Manitoba Provincial Parks for the Month of February 2021

The province is once again offering FREE entry to provincial parks during the entire month of February, 2021. A park permit will not be required to enter any Manitoba provincial park. Manitobans are encouraged to take advantage of all the activities available in the great outdoors at provincial parks.

Please note that due to rising COVID-19 cases, there is currently a travel ban to Northern Manitoba.


Maniotba Provincial Park COVID-19 Information:

  • Practice physical distancing in provincial parks. Keep two metres away from other individuals at all times.
  • Restrict your park visit to members of your household.  Do not gather in a group of more than five people, unless all persons in the group reside in the same residence. The fundamentals must still be practiced if gathered including physical distancing, wearing a mask and frequent handwashing.  
  • Masks must be worn inside all buildings including washrooms.
  • Wash your hands or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer regularly.
  • Stay home when sick.  Do not visit parks if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or if you or someone in your household are required to self-isolate.

Please bring your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

Practice Leave No Trace. Pack out everything you packed in including trash and waste, and keep pets on a short leash.

Only visit local health centres if it is an emergency.

Park Offices are closed.  Services may be provided by appointment.  Park vehicle permits and licenses for hunting, fishing and trapping can be purchased and printed before you visit online at www.manitobaelicensing.ca.

Ice Fishing Shacks: Ice fishing shacks or tents may be used if all persons using the shack/tent reside in the same residence, or have been authorized to attend that residence.

Outdoor skating and hockey rinks: No organized games or activities permitted – casual skating only. Keep two metres away from others, do no not gather in groups, stay with your household. Warm-up shelters are closed.

Toboggan Hills & Playgrounds: Keep two metres away from other users and do not gather in groups.  Warm-up shelters are closed.

Trails: Avoid busy trails. If a parking lot is full, do not park along roadways. Postpone your visit or use a different trail system.  Keep two metres away from other trail users.  Trail shelters and backcountry cabins are closed.  Non-modern washrooms along trails are not maintained regularly – bring your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
