The new gas rate will drop from $0.2055/m3 to $0.1977/m3.

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has approved Centra Gas’s application to decrease the current Primary Gas rate by 1.9%. The new gas rate will drop from $0.2055/m3 to $0.1977/m3 and will come into effect August 1, 2022.

Gas rates continue to go down in Manitoba. In February 2022, gas rates were slashed 14.2% after seeing a increase of 17.1% back in November, 2021.

The average residential customer is expected to save around $16 per year. Rates will reviewed again on November 1, 2022. Primary gas is currently a pass-through cost for Centra. The company charges customers what it pays and doesn’t make a profit.
