Comedian Jo Koy is bringing his Just Being Koy Tour to Winnipeg’s Canada Life Centre on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Jo Koy, one of the top stand-up comedians performing today, has become a global sensation, with his signature brand of comedy rooted in his Filipino-American upbringing. From humble beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house, he has risen to sell out world-renowned venues such as Madison Square Garden, O2 Arena in London, and the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila. His relatable, family-inspired humour continues to connect with fans across cultures, leading to record-breaking tours like his 2022 “Funny Is Funny World Tour” and multiple stand-up specials on Netflix including Jo Koy: Live From Brooklyn, Comin’ In Hot, and Live From Seattle. Acknowledged by Billboard and Pollstar as one of the highest-grossing comedians, Koy has also earned proclamations such as “Jo Koy Day” in Honolulu and Los Angeles, celebrating his impact on comedy and culture.

Beyond stand-up, Jo Koy has made major strides in film and television. He starred in the 2022 comedy Easter Sunday, a groundbreaking film produced by Amblin Partners that celebrated Filipino culture with an all-Filipino cast. He has voiced characters in animated hits like Monkey King, Leo, and The Tiger’s Apprentice, and has guest-starred in shows like Mr. Iglesias and Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens. Offstage, Koy champions Filipino representation in entertainment, producing the acclaimed Broadway musical Here Lies Love and the documentary Nurse Unseen, which highlights the contributions of Filipino nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. With a bestselling memoir, multiple awards, and a growing influence in both Hollywood and global comedy, Jo Koy continues to entertain and inspire audiences from Winnipeg to the world.
