The event is subsidized by the partner groups\, so you’re not likely to get an entire day with award-winning industry experts at these prices again! Lunch is included and parking is free on campus on Saturdays unless otherwise noted. You can apply for a 15-minute slot with a professional writing coach to have your writing evaluated. The folks from the Espresso Book Machine will be there to answer questions\, and we’ll have prize draws after lunch.  \nCheck-in starts at 8:30\, conference runs from 9am – 4pm. DESCRIPTION:Give your reusable unwanted items a new home and keep them out of the landfill! \nWhat to do\n\nplace unwanted\, reusable household items at the curb on your front street\nlabel each item with a “FREE”  (pdf – 13kb) sticker or sign\nkeep any items safely stored away that you don’t want to give away\nremove leftover items from the curb by dusk on Sunday\n\nWhat to give\n\nbooks\, CDs and DVDs\nfurniture and small appliances\nsports equipment and toys\ntools\nyard and gardening equipment (e.g.\, lawn mowers\, snow throwers\, rakes\, shovels)\nkitchen gadgets\, dishes\, cutlery\, pots and pans\nunwanted gifts\nconstruction material including drywall and hardware (e.g.\, nails\, bolts and screws)\nelectronics\nclothing\npaint\n\nWhat not to give\n\nany items infested with bed bugs (e.g.\, mattresses\, furniture\, bedding)\ntoilets (with a flush volume of 13 litres or more)\nvisit the Consumer Product Safety Bureau to find out about items that aren’t safe to give away (e.g.\, baby walkers\, lawn darts)\n\nGiveaway etiquette\n\nTake only the items at the curb marked “FREE”.\nRespect other people’s property – don’t walk or drive on people’s lawns or gardens.\nGiveaway items should still be in good condition.\nDon’t discard any items on another person’s lawn.\nObey the traffic laws at all times (e.g.\, don’t block traffic\, park illegally or block people’s driveways with your vehicle) and watch out for children.
