SUMMARY:2015 Folklorama
DESCRIPTION:Folklorama\, the world’s largest and longest-running multicultural festival\, will run from August 2 – 15\, 2015. \n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIt began in 1970 as a one time multicultural event to celebrate Manitoba’s Centennial. It was so successful it has returned every year since. \nFun stats about Folklorama: \n\nOn average\, Folklorama receives around 400\,000 pavilion visits each year\nAbout 21% of pavilion visitors come from outside of Winnipeg.\nTypically\, more than 3\,000 entertainers perform at more than 1\,500 shows throughout the two-week festival.\nOn average\, 600\,000 meals are served and 1\,000\,000 beverages are poured before the conclusion of the festival.\nApproximately 20\,000 volunteers participate to make Folklorama possible.\n\nIts a celebration of life and culture with world-class entertainment\, delicious authentic food and beautiful cultural displays. Explore one of the most vibrant arts and culture scenes found in the heart of the continent.

SUMMARY:Rumble the Road for Muscular Dystrophy
DESCRIPTION:That Rumble you hear\, it isn’t Thunder!	 \nRiders participating in the 3rd Annual Rumble the Road motorcycle rally will be roaring into Morden on Saturday\, August 15th to cool their jets and have a bite to eat.  The event\, in support of the Southern Manitoba Chapter of Muscular Dystrophy Canada\, will provide funds and programming to local individuals affected by neuromuscular disorders. \nRiders will begin the rally at either the Tim Horton’s Parking lot\, 141 Hwy 12 North in Steinbach or at the 1377 Niakwa Rd E Harley Davidson in Winnipeg and make their way south to the BBQ in Morden that will begin at 1 p.m. at Gas Light Harley Davidson.  The Winnipeg group will be making one pit-stop at the Carman Fire Hall along the way. \nDoug Bergen\, whose daughter Kiana was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disorder as a young child\, is very excited to see his riding buddies in Steinbach link their favourite pastime with a cause that is so close to his heart:  “Having the community support our family will make this event great – the feeling of freedom and independence that I get on the open road is what I hope Kiana gets to experience for many years to come!” \nRiders can register online at http://www.muscle.ca/ai1ec_event/rumble-the-road-for-muscular-dystrophy/  or in person at either the Tim Horton’s 141 Hwy North in Steinbach or at Harley-Davidson Winnipeg 1377 Niakwa Rd E starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday\, August 15th.
