SUMMARY:2014 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival is North America’s second-largest Fringe. In 2014\, the Winnipeg Fringe will host its 27th festival in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District from July 16-27.  \nWHAT WILL I SEE AT THE FRINGE? \nThe quick answer: almost anything. The longer answer: a fascinating mix of independent theatre. This year\, the Fringe will host more than 170 companies from across Canada and around the world who will bring amazing plays to enthusiastic and adventurous audiences. \nIndoor shows take place daily from noon to midnight in 32 venues around downtown.\nWe have something for everyone: comedy\, drama\, musicals\, dance\, improv…and so many more unique and original productions that don’t fit into any category. \nTickets are ridiculously affordable: only $5 to $10! \nDOES EVERYTHING TAKE PLACE INDOORS? \nDefinitely not. The Fringe takes over Old Market Square in the Exchange District during the festival. During the day\, Kids Fringe offers live entertainment and hands-on activities for children and their families. And the Outdoor Stage buzzes with music\, street performers and other incredible entertainment from noon to midnight every day. Fringing at Old Market Square also includes shopping\, refreshments and people watching!

SUMMARY:2014 Winnipeg Folk Festival
DESCRIPTION:The inaugural Winnipeg Folk Festival was held in 1974 as a one-time celebration to mark Winnipeg’s 100th anniversary. It was a free event and attracted an estimated audience of 22\,000 over the three-day weekend. \nThe gathering in 1974 created a community and laid down important roots in Birds Hill Provincial Park that remain strong today. The summer festival’s cumulative attendance now exceeds 80\,000 and includes thousands of visitors and performers from across North America and around the world. \nIt’s all accomplished with nearly 3000 dedicated volunteers who contribute well over 60\,000 hours each year to create the magic that is the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Interested sellers should email winnipegbikefest@mec.ca. \nTune-Ups & Test Rides: Get your bike in tip top shape with a free basic tune-up (first come\, first served). You can also test ride and try out the newest models from MEC\, Ghost and Ridley. \nFYOB (Fix Your Own Bike!): Take advantage of the stands and tools available\, roll up your sleeves\, and fix your own bike with the assistance of professional bike mechanics. \nCare & Repair Clinics: Local community bike shops will offer clinics\, with topics including fixing flats\, chain maintenance\, adjusting brakes\, and more. The bike fitting clinic will ensure your bike fits you perfectly. \nBike Decorating: Art City will provide bike decorating stations for kids and the young at heart\, and will also have a special outdoor sculpture on display.  \nMEC Photo Booth & Photo Contest: Get your picture taken with your bike\, and be entered to win great prizes. \nGroup Rides: Bring your mountain bike and take part in one or both of the afternoon group rides\, led by MEC Kids of Mud – Whittier Park (15-20km) and City Cruise (15-20km). \nShopping: Visit the MEC Marketplace to purchase cycling products and accessories\, and other outdoor items. \nTrials Demos: Fat Levels will be on hand to demonstrate thrilling trials by local riders.
