TOP 5 OLYMPIC EVENTS SO FAR

The Olympics have been on nearly every TV station over the past 4 days and we’re going to highlight the Top 5 Events that have happened so far. Sadly enough, Canada winning a Gold (or Silver or Bronze) medal is not one of them.

Phelps has won his 5th Gold Medal and set his 5th World record today. He his well on his way to win a record-breaking 8 Gold Medals this year in Beijing. (I can’t believe they can get away with super-imposing his head on my body).

 

 

21 Year Old Marie-Pier Beaudet

Canada’s Marie-Pier Beaudet was eliminated from women’s individual archery in the round of 16 on Day 4 of the Beijing Olympic Games by South Korea’s Yun Ok-Hee, one of the world’s best archers. In true Canadian spirit, Marie stated that she was just happy to make it that far.

Canadian Softball Women Hitting it Out of the Park
Lauren Bay Regula gave up one hit in five innings leading the women’s softball team to a 6-1 win over the Chinese Taipei team. Way to go girls!

Dwyane Wade led the men’s US basketball team to a 101-70 win over the Chinese. Sure, Lebron James added 18 points and pulled down six rebounds and swingman Kobe Bryant poured in 13 points, but Wade led with 19 points. USA remains undefeated in the Olympics smashing Angola 76-97 in their second Olympic game. Let’s hope they make it to the Gold medal game (of course they will).

Ok, so Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor improved to 2-0 in Olympic beach volleyball Tuesday with a straight-set victory over Cuba, but really…who looks at the score during women’s beach volleyball? Team USA has now won 103 consecutive games…pretty impressive. Pretty impressive indeed.
