Our Manitoba Moose, local AHL affiliates of the Vancouver Canucks will be holding the Moose Anthem Idol! The winner will have the opportunity to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” and “O Canada” in front of a packed house at the NHL exhibition game between the Calgary Flames and Phoenix Coyotes at the MTS Centre on September 24th.
On September 11th, each competitor will be asked to perform both anthems from the centre of the arena bowl at the MTS Centre through a wireless microphone. The top 10 singers, as determined by a panel of qualified judges, will be asked back for a second performance a week prior to the NHL exhibition. A winner will then be named at this time. Other finalists will be asked to perform the American and Canadian national anthems at various Moose regular season games in 2008-09.
All interested candidates should call the Manitoba Moose offices at 987-PUCK to register. Candidates aged six and up are eligible.
