Due to warm weather, the City is set to start its annual street spring cleaning a month early.
Sweeping efforts have already start Downtown. Beginning Tuesday night, the street sweeping operation will be expanded to include all regional streets including bridges and underpasses.
The preliminary cleanup will take about two weeks to complete.
Once this initial round of sweeping on main routes has been completed, sweeping efforts will shift to the remaining streets, sidewalks, back lanes, parks, and boulevards which will get underway on a city-wide basis in mid-April, weather permitting.
This marks the first time the City has ever started cleaning efforts in March. Motorists are reminded to watch for temporary ‘NO PARKING’ signs while cleaning is in progress.
