City of Winnipeg is now requiring Disability permit holders to pay for parking. Apparently, they used to get it for free.
It was news to me. The laws never stated that the disabled received free parking, it was just that they couldn’t enforce the two hour grace period they received, which meant they had an unlimited grace period.
People are outraged. I’m outraged that they got free parking. Really, you get AWESOME parking spots, what more do you want. If you are unable to plug a meter or a paystation, I don’t think you need to be operating a car.
