Numerous archaeological artifacts have been found at the future site of the Human Rights Museum. Great for archaeologists and ancient bone buffs, however not so great for visitors. The discovery has cause the museum to abandon the original plan for an underground parkade.
This really should not matter if The Forks decides to go ahead with their carbon neutral plan to charge all vehicles entry to help encourage people to use more “green” types of transportation.
The artifacts discovered appear to be from four different groups that used the site between 1000 and 1500AD. Surprisingly the evidence suggests that these people did NOT live on the site, rather they appeared to use for exactly what we use it for today — a social gathering place.
