Luc Bourdon was killed in a motorcycle accident near his hometown of Shippagan, N.B. today around 12:30 p.m. local time (10:30 a.m. CST). He was only 21.
Bourdon was a promising young defenceman who played his junior hockey with the Moncton Wildcats, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Val d’Or Foreurs of the QMJHL, split his first pro season in 2007-08 between Vancouver and the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose.
“He was a very talented player who made a great impact on the organization in a short period of time. It is a big loss for the Manitoba Moose family.”
