A woman was taken to Health Sciences Centre in critical condition after she was hit by a Winnipeg Transit bus on Friday. The accident happened at the intersection of Leila and McPhillips – I’m not sure why she wasn’t taken to Seven Oaks Hospital instead, which is located right at that intersection.
It happened at 5:45 PM but the intersection would remain closed for the rest of the evening while police officers investigated. I was header to Blockbuster Video on Leila at 10:30 PM last night when I ran into the traffic jam going on… Shoes from the woman were still laid down at the intersection where she was struck – the bus was also present. Below is a photo I snapped of the closed intersection around 10:30 PM.
