The theatre season has begun! This is only one of many plays The Manitoba Theatre Centre will be offering this year.
Scorched has had rave reviews in the French community. It has been performed over 100 times in both France and Quebec and has now been translated for English audiences.
Here is an excerpt from MTC’s webpage:
To carry out their mother’s last wishes, a brother and a sister return to her war-torn country to find a father and brother they never knew they had. As they embark on a journey into their mother’s past, the siblings unravel the mystery of her incredible life. With this searing and poetic story of war and separation, Lebanese/Québécois playwright Wajdi Mouawad firmly establishes himself as a powerful and original player on the contemporary theatre scene.
Scorched is playing from November 13th to November 29th at the MTC Warehouse. Tickets range between $5.50 and $37.00 depending on dates and seat locations. Tickets can be purchased from MTC’s website.
