I can honestly say that I have never taken a Winnipeg Taxi… And I am sure there are others who can say the same thing, which is probably why The Manitoba Taxicab Board has approved an 8% increase in fares. Duffy’s Taxi, and Unicity Taxi had been asking for 15 percent.
When the changes take effect on November 4th, the average cost of a 10 km trip will rise from $15.75 to $17.00. Even with the 8% increase, Winnipeg Taxis are still amongst the cheapest in the Country. Only Windsor, Ontario has lower fares.
