With the holidays just around the corner, I’m sure there will be many holiday office parties and gatherings of friends and families. And i’m also pretty certain that these parties may have some alcohol involved.

With that being said, Operation Red Nose will be in full swing again this year, starting on Friday, November 28, 2008. This marks it’s 25th year of operation in Canada.

If you haven’t heard of Operation Red Nose, it’s basically volunteers who will drive you home if you’ve had too much to drink either at a party, or even just going out to the bar. It’s a safe and free way of getting home after a night on the town, however donations are greatly accepted with the proceeds going towards youth sports programs.

Rides are provided on select nights until New Year’s Eve in Winnipeg, Brandon, Gimli, Flin Flon, Portage la Prairie, Selkirk, The Pas and Thompson.

The number to call in Winnipeg is 947-NOSE. Check out their website for a full schedule and numbers to call if you are outside of Winnipeg.  You can also check out the website for Volunteer opportunities.
