It’s official ladies and gentlemen! IKEA will be opening a store in Winnipeg!
The Swedish furniture company has purchased a piece of the former CN Intermodal Terminal site at Kenaston Boulevard and Sterling Lyon Parkway (not the Polo Park location that I had originally bet on)
The southwest Winnipeg store will be 350,000-square-feet and open sometime between late 2011 and early 2013.
The deal is pretty much inked and awaiting approvals from the province and the City of Winnipeg.
