The founder of Winnipeg’s Spring Taxi, Tommy Springman has past away. Springman who was 76 suffered a heart attack early Saturday morning at home shortly after returning from a 2 week stay in the hospital.
Tommy Springman aquired Star Taxi in 1989 and changed the name of the company to Spring Taxi. Spring Taxi’s fleet eventually expanded to 40 taxi cabs around Winnipeg. Springman then sold the company last January.
Today, a memorial service is being held at 10:30 a.m. at Etz Chayim on Matheson Avenue.
