As you may or may not have heard, Ron Able (of QX104FM) passed away on Friday, February 13th from pancreatic cancer.

Hello, my name is Sharon Taylor, the General Manager of QX104.
It is with tremendous sadness that I bring you the news that our dear friend, and collegue Ron Able has lost his battle with cancer.
At the end, Ron was surrounded by family, including his mother. Due to many beautiful messages posted over the past two weeks on this page – he became acutely aware of how admired, respected and loved he was by his Winnipeg audience.
Ron’s radio career took him across Canada, but many years ago he adopted Winnipeg as his hometown.
We have suspended our regular programming today as both a tribute to Ron, and as a welcome opportunity for us, his radio family, to cope with this terrible loss.
Astral Media Radio would like to send our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and of course his listening audience. A public celebration of Ron’s life will be announced at a later date.
Ron Able – a mentor to many, a friend to all – and a great man.
Rest in Peace Ron, I will sure miss you on the morning show on 104…
