The Hershey Bears won a AHL record 10th Calder Cup on Friday beating the Moose 4-1. The final series series score was 4-2. Rookie goaltender Michal Neuvirth took home the Jack A MVP trophy.
The Bears started strong scoring 3 straight goals in the first period. The Moose would never recover. The Bears scored an open netter late in the 3rd to seal the deal.
Thank you for a great season Moose! This years Calder Cup finals broke all sorts of attendance records. We look forward to seeing you again in the 2010 season! To all the girlfriends/wives of Winnipegers that have been glued to their televisions… it’s almost over! The NBA finals should wrap up soon with the Lakers leading the Magic 3-1.
