Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos will be signing autographs at the MTS Centre’s Portage Ave. & Donald St. entrance on Thursday, August 20 from 11:30am to 1:00pm.
Canadian Steven Stamkos is the 2008 number one overall draft pick in the NHL. Last season, he finished third in scoring on the Lightning with 23 goals and 23 assists for 46 points and 39 penalty minutes in his rookie season. He also played for Team Canada at the 2009 World Hockey Championships where Canada captured a silver medal.
Stamkos and the rest of the Lightning will take on the Edmonton Oilers in an NHL exhibition game at the MTS Centre on Thursday, September 24th, 2009. This is the sixth time Winnipeg has hosted an NHL exhibition game since 1997. Last year, the Coyotes fell 3-2 to the Calgary Flames.
