A reminder that undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. 39–0 (25 KOs) will make his return to boxing tonight fighting Juan Manuel Marquez 55-4-1 (37 KOs)

Mayweather is returning from a two year retirement and will try to reclaim his throne as pound-for-pound champion (currently held by Manny Pacquiao)

This should be an amazing match. If you are not a boxing fan than you don’t know that Mayweather is an amazing boxer but also is a cocky bastard. Nothing is funner to watch in boxing than a cocky boxer (Ali!!!)

Where on the flip side, Marquez is a humble man who will be fighting for the whole country of Mexico during its independence day. Yes, today is Mexican Independence day.

The fight was regularly scheduled for July 18, 2009 but Mayweather suffered a rib injury that pushed the fight back to September 19, 2009.

What is my take on this? I eventually want to see the downfall of Mayweather like everyone else does. But if Mayweather was to lose this match against Marquez, I don’t think we will ever see a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao would be one of the greatest fights in the history of boxing (next to Ali-Frazier). For it to happen, Mayweather needs to beat Marquez.
