The Jubilee overpass will be closed for four months to undergo construction and repairs which will cost an estimated $8.5 million.
Construction and repairs include:
– rehabilitation of concrete deck
– repairs to bridge supports
– reconstruction of roadways connecting overpass to Pembina and Jubilee
– resurfacing a portion of Jubilee avenue
The entire overpass and approach roadways connecting the overpass to Pembina Highway and Jubilee Avenue will be closed during the construction. With routine maintenance, the repairs should extend the lifespan of the overpass for up to 50 years.
Winnipeg transit route 95 will be rerouted during this time.
The overpass is scheduled to be re-open September 13, 2010.
