Winnipegers will get a chance to see the Queen in living colour, and not on a green $20 bill. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II along with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, will be visiting Winnipeg on July 3, 2010.
The Queens Canadian tour will be her 22nd official trip to Canada. Her last visit to Winnipeg was in 2002.
Her 2002 trip was highly criticized by British press as unorganized. The Queen and Prince Phillip got stranded on a water taxi at The Forks and they claimed that no one helped them deal with the Winnipeg weather.
You can be sure that this time around will be different and that the Queen will get the royal treatment she deserves.
