Blockbuster Canada is expected to close a third of it’s stores in Canada by June 18, 2011. Approximately 140 locations will be shutdown which employs about 10 people each. Up to 1,400 Canadians can lose their jobs when it’s all done.
Many Blockbuster chains have already stopped selling gift certificates and pre-orders. The last day anyone will be able to rent at the closing locations is Thursday, May 26, with a liquidation sale beginning the next day.
No news yet on which #city# locations are going to close. But if you do see any, please let us know. I fully expect these stores to have some amazing liquidation deals to build your videogame and bluray collection!
