The Public Utilities Board (PUB), which is responsible for regulating charges by Manitoba Hydro, MPI and Centra Gas, has order MPI to drop its premiums by 8%.
The 8% drop will come in March 2012. MPI originally requested a 6.85% but it was rejected by the PUB after a review of operating costs.
Ratepayers will be paying a lot less for their premiums in 2012, but don’t expect a huge rebate cheque in 2013. The will be the largest rate cut in MPI’s history. [METRO WINNIPEG]
