The cities infrastructure and public works committee has approved a plan to expand Kenaston into 6 lanes (3 lanes on each direction).
The expansion will be from Ness to Taylor Ave and also include expansion of the St. James bridge.
The narrow 50 km/h stretch down Kenaston will become a huge traffic nightmare once IKEA and the Seasons of Tuxedo opens. Kenaston is also expected to be a primary route for travel to the new Bomber Stadium.
An expansion of route 90 is long needed… and I’m happy they are finally moving the project forward.
The expansion will cost $130 million. [WINNIPEG SUN]
