How to buy online
Bookings must be made through the booking engine located on the official VIA Rail Canada Facebook page under the “Promotions” tab.
To obtain your round trip for the price of a one-way ticket, you must book the same Economy class fare on each direction of your round trip. Choose your desired booking class in the “Select class and fare plan” drop-down menu for your chosen departure and your return trip.
The fare will be automatically adjusted if your trip meets the conditions of this promotion.
Note that once you begin a transaction through the Facebook booking engine, our system will attempt to apply this special fare to any other trips you may wish to book. If you wish to compare with regular fares, please close your browser completely and begin a new search at viarail.ca.
Tickets may be picked up at a self-service ticketing kiosk or at a VIA Rail ticket counter.
Conditions
Discount:
To qualify for this promotion, you must book the same fare plan in both directions of your round trip.
If you choose different fare plans in Economy class in each direction, each direction will be discounted by 50% off of the normally applicable fare.
Purchase period:
From 12:00:01 a.m. PST on January 10, 2012 to 11:59:59 p.m. PST on January 10, 2012. Tickets must be purchased at least seven days (7) prior to departure or by 11:59:59 p.m. on January 10, 2012, whichever comes first.
This offer is applicable to new bookings only.
Travel period:
Valid for travel between January 17 and February 29, 2012 inclusive.
Valid routes:
Valid for travel between any two stations on the VIA Rail network.
Valid classes:
Valid in Economy class only.
Refunds and exchanges:
Your tickets are subject to all of the conditions of the fare plan(s) being used for each direction of your trip.
Other conditions:
This offer does not apply to group travel, to tickets issued with VIA Préférence reward points or to rail pass.
