The NBA will introduce its first ever Canada Series this fall with two 2012/2013 preseason games that will be played in Winnipeg and Montreal.
MTS Centre will play host as the Minnesota Timberwolves tip off against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. This won’t be the first time MTS Centre has hosted the NBA. In 2005, the Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers gave Winnipeg basketball fans a taste of the NBA in an exhibition game.
“NBA Canada Series demonstrates the NBA’s commitment to grow basketball in Canada and bring more live games and events to our growing fan base in the country,” said Dan MacKenzie, Vice President and General Manager, NBA Canada. “The inaugural event will bring fans in the provinces of Quebec and Manitoba closer to the game and showcase the dedication of our players on and off the court.”
